Yeah, so as I very briefly mentioned in my previous post, the much anticipated DTS has begun ! One week has gone by since the school started and I’m very excited to see what God will do here in the next 6 months. On Sunday all but 2 students arrived (because they needed more time to get here). We have 5 Germans, 4 Swiss, 1 African, and 1 East Indian on the team. We are quite diverse with our multicultural staff team as well. On staff we have Lizz from Washington, Rennal from the Cook Islands (Near New Zealand), Sabine from Germany (married to Rennal), Susan and John Philip from India, Joshua from Nigeria, Melanie from Germany, and myself from Canada! In total our DTS team is proudly representing 8 different nations!
On Wednesday we were all having a coffee break along with the rest of the castle community, and I looked around and counted 17 different nations. J.P, my Indian friend said, “surely this is but a shadow of what heaven will look like… “. And thank God, this is true. God’s grace has been revealed and extended to all nations from the least to the greatest. I’m so thankful to serve such an amazing, gracious God who shows no partiality! I can’t help but smile at the thought of Heaven with all of the different people together worshipping God. How great it will be.
Until Heaven we continue to serve God. Herein YWAM it has been going really great for me. I experience blessings from God every day, even though every day is not easy. We’re busy and it can be stressful, but it’s coming along. As long as I’m healthy I have no complaints.
On Wednesday I got a small concussion. It’s hard for me to explain how it happened, but basically I hit my head on the slanted wall by the staircase. I hit it so hard but I thought, oh well the pain will leave eventually. .. For the rest of the week I had a pulsating headache and it wouldn’t leave, so by Friday I went to see the doctor. My neurons were fine but I did have a concussion. This incident reminded me that I really take my health for granted. God has blessed me so much with my health. So I’m taking this-my first ever concussion experience, to remind me to be thankful for everything-especially for health.
Teaching: This week our teaching was “Hearing the Voice of God” by an English woman named Katie. For the most part the students enjoyed her teaching, but for some it was hard to accept because the concept of hearing from God was so new to them. We studied the scripture, prayed, wrote letters to Jesus, and made a point that everyone should take alone time to meditate on God’s promises. I think it was a great first week. Our relationships are steadily getting deeper, but we have a long way to go.
Outreach locations: Our outreach locations have been decided and made known to the students. They are Europe and India. Students and staff are now taking the time to pray about which location to go to. We made it clear that wherever we go, we will go with servant hearts- bringing glory to God in whatever we do. This is an important mentality to have in YWAM, but also in every Christian life. We are trying to work this out in our everyday lives.
Prayer Points: So this concludes my first detailed blog post. I would really appreciate any prayers that go out to me, and to this YWAM ministry that I’m serving in.
So please pray:
-That God would really work in the lives of our DTS students
-That He would give us a passion and a motivation to serve each other
-That He would continue to provide for me in whatever I need
-That we would be consumed by His amazing presence
-That in this DTS, He would receive all of the glory and praise
To those who check out my blog, thank-you. I will try to be more faithful in writing here- my hope is that at least once a week I will have a decent post up.
As for whoever is interested in supporting me financially- I am still waiting for a reply from YWAM Canada for my “missionary number”. Once I get this number supporting me should be quite easy. Just get in contact with YWAM Canada. I am very responsible with my money so I am doing just fine J By the grace of God I have everything that I need. Thank-you for your prayers and support!!! God Bless you.
